Barnful of Quilts 2010

WARNING: EXPLOSION OF COLOR AHEAD!

Barnful of Quilts is a fiber art show like no other~ unique for its variety and location.  Hosted by my mother, Valerie Fox, at Fox Farms in Waxhaw, NC, this show brings people from all around to see incredible works of art hanging from the rafters of a horse barn.  To see pictures from previous shows, click HERE:  Barnful of Quilts 2009.  The stalls serve as “booths” for vendors and exhibitors.  Feast your eyes on the exquisite vibrancy and detail, understanding that my camera can hardly capture the true beauty…  I’ve decided to post entire pictures instead of thumbnails so that you can see the incredible stitching and detail in each piece.

Three ladies were demonstrating the art of lacemaking, without a doubt the most intricate craft I have ever seen.  Michelle C. Chase of MIRASOLACE travels all over the world teaching about bobbin lace- contact her at mcchase@comporium.net.  These ladies have PATIENCE: it takes about a YEAR to make one piece of lace!

Served with a smile! 🙂
